In 2018 CCLHDN supported three nutrition related bills

SB-1192 - Children’s meals.

SB 1192 requires a restaurant, which serves a meal primarily targeted and marketed to children, to make the default drink option served in bundled meals a healthful beverage - water, sparkling water, flavored water with no added sweeteners, or milk.

SB-900 - Electronic benefits transfer system: CalFresh supplemental benefits.

Proposed to enable the CalFresh EBT system to integrate supplemental nutrition benefits to incentivize California-grown produce purchases.

AB-1871 Charter schools: free and reduced-price meals.
